Robert Louis Hardee (1929 - 2011)
Robert Louis Hardee went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, after a courageous battle with lung cancer and renal failure. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
Robert was born on Sept. 9, 1929, in Screven, Ga., to Dillon and Reid Hardee. He grew up in Apopka, Fla., before settling in Fort Worth. "Bob," as he was known to family and friends, was a loving husband, father and avid woodworker. He was a Korean War veteran and a retired 45-year Convair/ GD/ Lockheed Martin Aeronautics employee. Robert was a Baptist deacon of 40-plus years and a member of Williams Road Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his sister, Dorothy Carter.
Survivors: Beloved "Honey" and wife of 57 years, Ella Yvonne "Blondie" Hardee; daughters, Cindy Engels and husband, John, Barbara Johns and husband, Daniel; grandchildren, Chris Carriker and wife, Angela, Jennifer Carriker, Justin Johns, Stephanie Cagle and husband, Jayton, Linsey Johns; nieces, Jerrie Watson, Trudy Lane and husband, Weldon; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
